When evaluating a data center there are several questions that are frequently asked. Q.How many years has C7 Data Centers been in business?
A. C7 has been in business for over 10 years. In the last three years C7 has been refocused and rebranded to provide world class data center services.
Q. What is the involvement of the owner in the current business?
A. Canopy Ventures is the primary owner and has regular meetings with C7’s management team.
Q. Can I just stop by for an immediate tour of the data center facility?
A. Yes. We welcome you to tour any one of our facilities during normal business hours at your convenience. Our tier three and tier two facilities are well maintained and are ready for your visit. An escort will meet you and get you a visitor’s pass prior to entering the data center.
Q. How close are your data centers to capacity?
A. Our data centers are filling quickly. We treat a data center as being full when it reaches 75% capacity. Remaining space is made available to existing customers to ensure they have plenty of room to grow. Our bandwidth is considered full when we’ve reached 50% - 60% of capacity. Our power and cooling systems are fully redundant and are capable of handling increasingly dense computing configurations.
Q. Can we start out with a pilot project to evaluate real world performance of both your equipment and tech support?
A. Certainly, and with our current marketing promotions your pilot project will be very cost effective.
Q. How high is your raised floor?
A. Our raised floor heights range from 30” to 12”.
Q. May we review your maintenance records and uptime history?
A. We do not publish our uptime history. C7 provides a Service Level Agreement guaranteeing a 99.99% uptime and meets or exceeds that SLA. We do however publish our preventative maintenance schedule, which is available upon request.
Q. Can you give me a description of your data center facilities geographical locations?
A. C7 Data Centers facilities are all located in a disaster safe area in the Intermountain west. The Salt Lake City metro area has very limited risk exposure to flood, hurricane, tornado or fire disasters. The U.S. Presidential Disaster Risk Map shows our locations in Utah as being some of the most disaster safe of all geographic locations in the U.S.
Q. How difficult is it to migrate to another data center?
A. C7 Data Centers is committed to providing you with the best data center experience possible, even if you decide to migrate away from our data center facility. C7’s sales and support team will assist you, according to agreements, with your migration needs.
Q.Do you have office space or a place where I can setup my laptop and work that is away from the data center floor?
A. All of C7 Data Centers facilities have a customer resource area with tables, comfortable chairs, internet connectivity and well stocked vending machines.
Q. Are your facilities manned 24/7 with security and phone support and with people who have immediate access to technicians?
A. All C7 data centers are staffed 24/7/365 with security and on-site staff available to help you with any issue or concern.
Q. Do your facilities have redundant power?
A. C7 Data Centers has true A/B power delivery with physical separations for the A & B UPS and ATS systems, dual substation feeds and power delivery for increasingly dense computing platforms.
Q. How is the temperature in the data center controlled?
A. The data center temperature is controlled by pressure and temperature sensors throughout the data center. Our cold aisle containment system maintains a positive pressure environment that works with your server fans to deliver cold air to your equipment. The data center air is conditioned and filtered for particulates and continuously sampled to detect early signs of a potential fire.
Q. Are your data centers carrier neutral?
A. All of our data center facilities are carrier neutral and offer a BGP best path routing blended solution for low latency performance.
Q. How expensive is your power per square foot cost?
A. C7 Data Centers has some of the lowest power costs per square foot in the nation. Low cost power combined with disaster safe geographic location makes C7 data centers an excellent choice for a primary production or disaster recovery site.
