Director of Cloud Infrastructure Engineering
As Director of Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, you will be responsible for supporting C7’s Cloud datacenter operations by designing, implementing, and maintaining large production systems for our customers, and providing top level system support for VMWare based cloud issues.
This position requires in-depth knowledge of virtualization, networking, routing, security, data center operations, and hardware such as servers, switches, firewalls and SAN’s.
Primary responsibilities
• Responsible for the design, implementation, and management of virtual infrastructure
• Maintain high level systems and network documentation
• Provide deployment and virtual environment last line support
• Proactively monitor cloud production systems and assist with reporting on operational metrics
• Ensure that the company information security policies are enforced
Technical and Education Requirements
• BS Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Four years of VMware ESX 3.5/Vsphere
• Minimum 10 years experience in IT
• Experience in VDI/VMview a plus
• Extensive Cisco or Foundry experience, including routing, switching and firewalls
• Extensive experience working with enterprise SAN’s (Equallogic a Plus, others desired)
• Experience working in datacenter environments with related equipment (servers, PDU’s, Racks, cabling, etc.)
• Microsoft enterprise operating systems, Active Directory and applications (Office, Server and Desktop)
• Experience with Linux
• VCP and CCNA certifications required; CCNP, MCP and other related certifications a plus.
• SAN to SAN replication
• Vizioncore vFoglight Experience a plus
• Software based replication with any of the following tools: Vreplicator, Vranger, Platespin, DoubleTake, EsXpress, Acronis
• Experience with Storage Virtualization a plus
• Experience with WAN optimization a plus
Other Skills
This employee will be a key leader of the Cloud Systems Infrastructure team. You will interact with all levels of management and will be extremely technical with an outgoing personality. You will need strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact professionally, courteously, and effectively with a wide range of staff and clients. You should have strong knowledge of multi-datacenter enterprise practices with an emphasis on production integrity and exceptional independent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
